The former New Road Congregational Church Memorial

This church was built in 1866, closed for worship in 1967, and was then a warehouse for a lighting company. After a major fire it was demolished in 1982. Attached to the organ was a cast-iron plaque dedicated to former scholars at the church’s Sunday school who had been killed in WW1.

That plaque has recently been located.
